A  Will you be free next Monday evening, Mr. Smith? Our manager would like to invite you to dinner.

   史密斯先生，您下星期一晚上有空吗？我们经理想请您吃饭。

B  Oh, that’s very king of him. I.’m sorry, but I have an engagement that evening.

   哦，他太客气了。可是很抱歉我那天晚上有个约会。

A That’s all right. How about next Wednesday, then?

   没什么。 那么下星期三怎么样？

B  Next Wednesday will be fine. I’ll be free in the afternoon and in the evening.

   下星期三可以。我下午和晚上都有空。

A  That’s excellent. Next Wednesday evening then. It’ll be a roast duck dinner at Quanjude, a famous restaurant in Beijing.

   那太好了。 那么就定在下周三晚上。我们在北京一家有名的饭店——全聚德请您吃烤鸭。

B  Oh, the famous Beijing roast duck! I’m sure I’ll like it.

   哦，著名的北京烤鸭！ 我肯定回喜欢吃的。

A  Well, the proof of the pudding is in the eating. I’ll come to pick you up at six, Wednesday evening.

B  That’ll be wonderful. See you next Wednesday, then.
